Nigerian Lawyers in Scotland (NLIS) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) dedicated to supporting, connecting, and creating opportunities for Nigerian lawyers, aspiring legal professionals, and those with an interest in the legal profession across Scotland.
Founded on the principles of leadership, inclusion, representation, and community, NLIS exists to provide a platform through which legal professionals can develop professionally, build meaningful relationships, contribute to society, and thrive within the Scottish legal landscape.
We recognise the unique journeys and challenges faced by internationally qualified lawyers, law students, and minority ethnic legal professionals. Through mentoring, networking, professional development, advocacy, and community engagement, we seek to empower individuals and strengthen representation within the legal profession.

NLIS is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Our Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, and ensures the organisation operates in accordance with its charitable purposes.
Chair & Coordinator
Founding Chair of NLIS and dual-qualified legal practitioner: Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. With over 20 years of international legal experience across energy, infrastructure, technology, and regulatory sectors.
Treasurer
Trustee and Treasurer of NLIS, responsible for oversight of the organisation's finances and ensuring responsible stewardship of charitable resources.
Secretary
Trustee and Secretary of NLIS, supporting governance, compliance, and the administration of the organisation's activities and obligations.
